Each year, the Capitol Hill EcoDistrict brings together community stakeholders to address a topic or an issue affecting the neighborhood. It is an opportunity to come together, celebrate the cultural richness of Capitol Hill, and to engage in thoughtful dialogue.

Past Community Forums have focused on:

  • Public Life Planning

  • Neighborhood Sustainable Development

  • Preserving Affordability and Diversity

  • The Capitol Hill Arts District

  • The Changing Community of the Central District

  • Responding to Rapid Change

  • Preventing Displacement and Building Wealth

  • Pike-Pine Protected Bike Lanes

Following the 2021 Community Forum, the EcoDistrict will continue to conduct individualized research to ensure representation from all sectors of the community. With this insight gathered, we will create a Vision and Implementation Plan for Public Life in Capitol Hill.

In conjunction with this outreach, the EcoDistrict has embarked on several pilot projects:

  • Rain paint murals

  • Habitat demonstration garden

  • Outdoor retail fair
